Sweet potato recipe

November 1, 2016

One of our favourite traditional side dishes this time of year is sweet potato. It’s easy to cook and super healthy, full of vitamin A and a good source of vitamin C, potassium and dietary fibre. They’re also delicious and something both you and your pup can enjoy! For dogs, sweet potato is an excellent source of dietary fibre, which is great for their digestive health, as well as vitamin B6 and beta-carotene.

We found a great, super simple dog treat recipe made with the goodness of sweet potato, oat flour and unsweetened applesauce. They’re the perfect autumn treat that your pup will love. Give them a try this weekend and let us know how they turned out on our Facebook page!

1 cooked sweet potato (mashed)
1-cup oat flour
2 eggs
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

Preheat oven to 350F
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl
Place teaspoon-sized drops on an ungreased cookie sheet
Bake for 20-25 minutes, depending on how soft your pup likes their treats
