Baked Apples with Cinnamon

As fall rolls around, apple picking season is in full swing, and the sweet smell of cinnamon baked goods fills the air. Since we’ve already got your dog’s cinnamon-apple cravings covered with our Zoë Tender Bites Apple & Cinnamon soft treats, we’ve decided to share with you this easy recipe to help you get your own fix.

Makes 4 servings.

What you’ll need:

  • 2 lbs apples (either Cortland or Gala for best results), peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar

How to make them:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 Fahrenheit (190 C) degrees.
  2. Toss the slices of apples with the cinnamon, lemon juice and brown sugar in a large bowl and place in a baking or casserole dish.
  3. Cook apples, tossing occasionally, for about 30 minutes until soft and juicy.

This recipe is perfect by itself as for a sweet afternoon treat, as a side dish paired with roasted meats, or as a dessert with vanilla ice cream.
